Applying to i-WIL
- When does the i-WIL course begin?
- The i-WIL course begins on 16 July 2012.
- What is the last day to apply for i-WIL course?
- All applications must be received no later than 31 May 2012.
- How do I apply to the programme?
- Will I need to attend an interview as part of the selection process?
- Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews. Interviews will conducted in Bangalore and New Delhi between 11 May to 11 June 2012.
- Is there a separate admission process for sponsored candidates?
- No. Sponsored candidates should follow the standardised Application Procedure.
- Is there any relaxation of admission criteria for PhD holders?
- No. Candidates with a PhD should meet the same eligibility requirements and selection criteria.
- I don't have any work experience. Can I still apply for the programme?
- Yes. Formal work experience is not required for admission to the programme if candidates meet all other Eligibility Requirements.
- I've never worked in politics or government. Can I still apply for the programme?
- Yes. Previous experience in politics is not required for admission to the programme if candidates are able to demonstrate an interest in politics and meet all other Eligibility Requirements.
- I haven't completed a Bachelors degree. Can I still apply for the programme?
- No. As i-WIL is a professional certificate programme, participants need to hold at least a Bachelors degree.
- I am a foreign national. Can I still apply for the programme?
- Yes. The i-WIL programme is open to citizens of all countries. However, as the course contents and activities are specifically designed for the Indian context, the programme may not be as valuable for participants who do not reside or plan to reside in India in the near future.

Programme Costs

- What is the total cost of completing the i-WIL programme?
- The total cost of the programme is 4.75 lakh Indian Rupees (INR). For more information about what is included and excluded in this fee, view the Programme Costs.
- Are there additional costs for foreign nationals?
- Foreign nationals are expected to pay the same programme fee as Indian nationals. However, foreign nationals may need to consider additional expenses such as Indian visas and/or travel to and from India.
- Is there a concessional fee if more than one applicant is sponsored by the same organization?
- No. A concessional fee is not available at this time.
- Is there financial aid available?
- Yes. Financial Aid may be available on a case-by-case basis and subject to availability.
Programme Details

- What is the overall duration of the programm?
- The programme is 10 weeks long and requires a full-time commitment from participants during that period. Find out more about the Course Schedule and Programme Structure.
- Where is the programme based?
- i-WIL takes place in Bangalore, with one-week study trips to New Delhi and Singapore. Participants are also required to return to their home constituencies during the programme for a two-week fieldwork period. For exact dates, view the Course Schedule.
- How many terms are in the programme?
- There are no terms. The course is divided into four units which are administered over a ten-week period. For more information, view the Course Details.
- What qualification will I receive if I complete the programme?
- Participants who complete i-WIL will receive certification from the Centre for Public Policy (CPP) at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).
- Can I participate in the programme via distance learning?
- No. At this time, distance learning is not an option.
- Can I participate in the programme on a part-time basis?
- No. All participants are required to attend sessions during the day and from Monday to Friday.
- Can I opt out of the foreign component of the programme?
- No. The week-long study trip to Singapore is mandatory.
- Is there a job placement provided by the programme?
- No. Placement services are not included at this time.
